  • What is step #1 when establishing a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable, consistent and enjoyable, instead of restrictive and unrealistic?

Letting go of perfection 👋🏼 Acknowledging that there will always be days when you’re just “not feeling it” and that yes, you will fall off the wagon at some point. And that’s ok! It happens to everyone.

Instead of pursuing perfection, focus on building a foundation of self compassion, resilience and healthy habits. Then suddenly it’s easy to hop back on the wagon again 🚚!
  • Helloo 🤗 interrupting ur day to say we should all be drinking more bone broth. It is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. One of the many mechanisms of bone broth is L-glutamine. L-glutamine is one of the most effective amino acids at strengthening &/or rebuilding our gut lining. A strong gut barrier means:
•optimal nutrient absorption
•keeps pathogens & undigested particles out of the bloodstream (aka reduces systemic inflammation)
•keeps ur gut bugs 🐛 happy and thriving
•reduces food sensitivities
•prevents leaky gut!
A bone broth a day keeps the nutritionist away 🤓 TY @picnikaustin for making this superfood convenient and delicious!
  • Nutrition myth: Eating healthy requires giving up all your favorite foods.
Wrong!! It’s never been easier to make healthy modifications and recreate the foods we love. In fact, not only are you eating more nutrient dense foods and avoiding suspect ingredients, but they don’t make you feel like sht 👏🏻 It’s really a win-win 😁

Easy chicken & veggie quesadilla:
1-2 @sietefoods almond flour tortillas
2 handfuls of organic spinach, lightly sautéed
@instantpotofficial shredded chicken breast
@rumianocheese grass-fed sharp cheddar
@edenfoods black beans (their beans are pre-soaked and in a BPA free can #winning )
And tons of avo 🥑🥑🥑
  • True: physical activity can look like a 5 mile run, a high intensity spin class or squats for days.

Also true: physical activity can look like walking your dog, stretching or in my case today, a slowwww vinyasa with a generous shavasana 💁🏻‍♀️ Different, but equal 🤸🏻‍♀️
  • If someone would have told me I’d go back to school for my Master’s I would have NEVER believed them 😂 Meanwhile, here I am buried in books on a Saturday afternoon and not mad about it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Lifeee ya know.
  • We have always been told that if we weren’t blessed with X or Y inherent trait then it’s just not in the cards for us. Our traits are fixed, right?

Ex:
I’m an unhealthy eater
I’m not a morning person
I’m not an exerciser
I’m an anxious person
Etc etc.

Actually, no. These are called “limiting beliefs” because they limit you from reaching your full potential. Studies actually support the alternative. Turns out that with practice and repetition, traits can be developed over time.

A growth mindset means that you BELIEVE you can embody whatever traits you want if you put in the work. The mechanism- when you believe something is possible, your behavior changes.

One of my personal resolutions for 2019 is to identify my limiting beliefs and shift into a growth mindset. What limiting beliefs about yourself and your health are holding you back?
  • Last meal in Switzerland and reverting back to my old ways 😁. So grateful for this experience but there’s nothing like international travel to make you appreciate home 💕 Can’t WAIT to squeeze my pup 😭 and eat some vegetables lolz. Auf wiedersehen Switz! ✌🏼
  • The hype is REAL 🤯 soooo incredibly beautiful and VAST in every direction. Lived it up on our last day on the slopes ⛷ TY God for this ridiculous playground 🙌🏻!
  • I don’t always eat gluten & dairy, unless it’s fondue in Switzerland 😛 Eating clean is important, but don’t forget to LIVE ur life 🙆🏻‍♀️ #foodfreedom
