Easy 1 Day Detox

We have all been there. A big weekend with friends, a post-holiday slump, or maybe just a few days of unhealthy eating. Regardless of the reason, your body is likely nutrient-deprived, working to fight off toxins or experiencing inflammation. Yikes, pass the green juice!

While I’m not a huge advocator of binge cleanses or detoxes, the reality is that we have all felt the need to hit the reset button. Some multi-day cleanses have their place, but they do require a level of commitment. This one day detox is intended to be your go-to when you need something easy yet impactful that will leave you feeling cleansed and rejuvenated.

This detox is designed to be:

  • Rich in antioxidants to assist your cells in neutralizing free radicals and eliminating toxins
  • High in anti-inflammatory ingredients to help heal inflammation
  • Digestion promoting to help eliminate toxins
  • Low in sugar to help restore healthy blood glucose levels

Upon waking- drink two room temperature or warmed, full glasses of water with a quarter to one half lemon wedge in each. If you have Apple Cider Vinegar and can stand the taste, add a tablespoon to each glass.

Drink as much water as you can throughout the day.

Exercise! Definitely find time during your detox day to work out. It doesn’t have to be first thing in the morning, but opt for a heavier cardio workout or heated power vinyasa that will allow you to sweat.

Breakfast – Garden Greens Smoothie

Lunch – Kale Power Bowl

Dinner – Veggie Turmeric Bone Broth

Remember to drink lots of water. If you get hungry in between meals, snack on some raw nuts or berries. Sipping on Kombucha is also a good option because they are filling and a great source of probiotics. Watch out for brands with added sugar though.

Try to finish up dinner by 7pm. After dinner, drink some decaffeinated tea. Get to bed early and plan to get at least 8 hours of sleep.

If you’re able, consider taking the detox beyond just your diet. Find ways throughout your day to enhance your detox and get your mind right.

  • Start your day in prayer or meditation
  • Take a bath
  • Put on a face mask
  • Light a candle
  • Resist technology

Commit to making this day everything you need it to be!
